Winter Cover II
Work continues on the cover. Both port and starboard sidepanels are attached and I visited the boat today to do a test-fit. The cover looks like it will fit nicely. I took some measurements so I can make the cut-outs for the shrouds and the main zipper that will allow the cover the wrap around the mast. I have yet to sew the front and rear enclosures and add zippers, but I think I'll be able to get this thing finished (or at least nearly so) over the weekend.
Work has been slow. With family here for the holiday and the usual end-of-semester chaos prior to that, plus the need for an additional 15 yards of material, I haven't been making much progress during the past few weeks. In fact, it was just yesterday that I finished seaming the port sidepanels.
In addition to the front and rear enclosures, I need to add the hem, drawstring, and webbing tiedowns that will complete the bottom edge of the cover. If I have enough material left over, I may then add some reinforcement to areas that will be subject to chafe or tension.
